CRASHBOARD (education, not financial advice)

Support

Crashboard is made by one person. Email me and you will reach that person directly, not a ticket queue.

support@crashboard.net

I read every message and aim to reply within two or three business days. There is no account to verify, so please mention your device and iOS version if something is not working.

Subscriptions, billing and refunds

The subscription is sold by Apple, so Apple — not I — handles billing, cancellation and refunds. I have no ability to see your purchase, cancel it for you, or issue a refund.

Cancel or manage your subscription

On your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Crashboard. Or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next year.

Request a refund

Refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines and you think that is unfair, write to me anyway — I cannot reverse it, but I would like to know.

You paid but the history is still locked

Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore purchases. That re-checks your Apple Account and is the right fix after reinstalling or moving to a new device. If a family organiser has to approve the purchase, it unlocks on its own once they do — you can close the window while you wait.

What the subscription actually unlocks

Twenty-six years of scrubbable history and the per-indicator contributions panel. Today's reading is free and stays free.

Using the app

What do the colours mean?

The background is a rank, not a verdict. It shows where today's blended reading sits against every day since 2000 — deep red at the worst readings on record, deep green at the best. Saturation carries how much of the panel is reporting, so a thin or divided day drains toward grey rather than asserting a confident colour.

Green is not a recommendation and red is not a warning.

What are Conditions Now and Conditions Ahead?

Two readings over the same indicators with different weights. Conditions Now is stress visible in the system today — credit spreads, bank failures, volatility, funding pressure. Conditions Ahead is what is building underneath — the yield curve, issuance appetite, positioning, inflation drift.

Why does a reading say "n of m" inputs?

Not every indicator reports every day; some series are weekly, monthly or quarterly, and the early years of the record are genuinely thinner. That count is how many contributed to the number you are looking at, stated rather than hidden.

Does it work offline?

Yes. A complete snapshot ships inside the app, so it opens to a full dashboard on first launch with no network connection at all.

I think a number is wrong

Please tell me, and say which indicator and which date. Every series is traceable to a named public source, so a mistake can be tracked down. The data itself may also be delayed, revised or incomplete at the source — that is noted in the disclaimer below, and it is a real limitation rather than a formality.

Privacy and accounts

How do I reset my password?

There isn't one. Crashboard has no account, no sign-in and no profile — nothing to log into and nothing to reset.

How do I delete my data?

There is none to delete. The app collects nothing about you and transmits nothing about you anywhere. Deleting the app removes the snapshot database it kept on your device. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Where the data comes from

Twenty-nine indicators, folded from 43 data series, drawn from eight United States government sources: Federal Reserve Economic Data, US Treasury Fiscal Data, SEC EDGAR, FDIC, CFTC, EIA, USGS and FEMA. All public domain. No licensed market data is used or republished. The full attribution list is in the app's About screen and on the home page.

Important

Crashboard is provided for educational and entertainment purposes only. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or other asset.

Nothing here is personalised to your circumstances. The author is not a licensed financial adviser, broker or investment professional. Consult a qualified professional before making any financial decision.

The readings are one opinionated model built from public data. That data may be delayed, revised, incomplete or wrong, and the model may be wrong even when the data is right. Historical readings are not a forecast: how the barometer scored a past period says nothing reliable about what happens next.

Provided without warranty of any kind. You are solely responsible for any decision you make.
